The Segway HT is the first of its kind! A self-balancing personal transportation device that is designed to go anywhere you go. The Segway HT requires no special skills. Virtually anyone can use one.It's compact, powerful, and rechargeable from any wall outlet.

What It Is

"Electric Personal Assistive Mobility Device" means a self-balancing two non-tandem wheeled device that is designed to transport only one person and powered by an electric propulsion system that limits the device's maximum speed to fifteen miles per hour or less.

Common Assumptions

A partial list of incorrect assumptions about the Segway HT:

It's dangerous.

No more dangerous than a pedestrian. There is no history or data indicating Segway HT's are dangerous when ridden properly.

The Segway HT is uncontrollable and will collide into pedestrians.

Untrue. It is agile, non-intrusive, and interfaces very well with it's rider and the environment.

It has no brakes.

Untrue. It has "Ultra'Brakes", a technology that applies reverse torque to the wheels stopping faster than skates, bicycles, wheelchairs, or people running at the same speeds.

It competes for sidewalk space.

Untrue. The Segway HT occupies little more space than your own body. It is as narrow as your shoulder bones and experiences no lateral shift while ridden.
